Review - It's Just Lola by Dixianne Hallaj

It's Just LolaIt's Just Lola by Dixiane Hallaj
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What were the main themes of the book? How well did the author execute these themes? The main themes were relationships, family and personal growth. The book teaches you that hardship will come and go but you will always have yourself to rely on.

Describe 2 different settings or locations. One - This was the most heartbreaking of all. "By night she huddled with her children and they shared body
warmth. “Decency be damned,” she said to Estelle, “we aren’t made for
this weather and we can’t be shivering all night.”

Two - “Thank you for your kindness. I’ll be all right now.” “I’ll stay a little longer.” .... I'll stay a little longer. How many of us walk pass people who truly need our help?

Were you able to connect with the main character and why? On many different levels, Lola is every woman. She is mother, warrior, friend and a pillar of strength. She conceals so much of her troubles. I would have been honoured to meet her

Which did you find more appealing, the introduction or the conclusion? I'm a bit torn on this. Each were brilliant in their own way and if I had to pick one, I would pick the introduction just because of the writing style.

Why would you recommend or not recommend this book? Yes, I will definitely recommend this book.

Disclosure - I received a free book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
