Author Interview – Christina Esdon

Do you intend to make writing a career? I currently have a day job that I enjoy and that I find meaningful. Eventually I would like to make writing a career, but am thankful right now I have a way to make ends meet and can ease myself into making writing a career.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp? The messages in the Orange Karen anthology are all about strength, resiliency, and hope.

What are your goals as a writer? Aside from writing well, I want to inspire readers, and help them to escape everyday stressors, even if just for a moment or two.

Have you ever considered anyone as a mentor? The editors for this anthology are all mentors to me. Susan Ethridge, Jennifer Gracen, Steven Luna, and K.D. McCrite continue to teach me, in their own ways, how to become a better writer.

Who is your favorite author and why? Fellow Canadian author Margaret Atwood is my favorite author. First off, her books are amazing. I also love how she does not let herself get pigeon-holed into a particular genre. She’s very accessible to her fans, especially through Twitter and Wattpad, and she voices her opinions on matters close to her heart.
